The lighting and surroundings made it much more evocative than I expected. My gf who was joining me was regularly scared by the surroundings.
I had one moment where in an otherwise deserted floor working my way through a set of filing shelves, we turned a corner and bumped into another member of the audience. I mentioned the masks; they really are a bit freaky and when this other person appeared out of nowhere, it was a little like a shock moment in a movie where someone suddenly appears out of nowhere and everyone jumps - but on a much more personal level...
